Our mission is to publish articles that articulate, demonstrate and substantiate the field of energy medicine.

Born in June of 2006, as an official publication of Healing Touch Program, Energy Magazine has grown to over 23,000 subscribers internationally. In the beginning, Energy Magazine covered the practice of Healing Touch. Today, the magazine has grown to include the broad range of modalities and research that are encompassed in the field of energy medicine.

Energy Magazine is available in a flip page format so you can turn the pages just like a print magazine and a PDF format that can be easily printed.

We love to hear from our readers – please send us your comments and thoughts. If you would like to see us cover a particular modality or topic, please let us know. .

Roxy's Healing Touch

Roxy is quite comfortable using Healing Touch techniques on herself and those around her. She has an internal code of conduct that moves her to ask for permission before she uses what she thinks might help others. The techniques make sense to her and she’s so “at home” with using Healing Touch that she hardly ever thinks twice about when and where to offer herself as a helper. Roxy has helped people with bruises, cuts, wounds of various typesb2ap3_thumbnail_Roxys_Healing_Touch.jpg- often on the playground during recess. Roxy is seven- years old. This is her story.

Roxy’s Mother has been involved in healing and natural therapies her entire adult life. It is in her blood. When she became pregnant, it was a given that I would do HT with her during the delivery. We live across the state of Michigan from each other. Seven years ago I spent the delivery with Mom and watched her ease as she went with the flow of the contractions and the challenge to bring another precious Being into the world.

Roxy showed up! Perfect and wondrously present. From that experience onward, she and I have had a closeness that transcends friendship -- we are bonded in a special way. I cannot explain it -- I simply celebrate it!

I offered to teach the Children’s Healing Touch class to Roxy and a group of her friends. A no-hesitation - “Yes!” came from Roxy. I arrived with My Helpful Healing Touch books, crayons, paper, Energy Ball, Chakra Doll, and some nervousness since I have been teaching adults energy medicine for 16 years. Six and seven-year olds are quite a different student demographic!

The Diamond Technique: An Energetic Intervention in Support of the Immune System

Posted by on in Energy Magazine

Originally published in Energy Magazine: The official Publication of the Healing Touch Program April 2011 Issue.

The purpose of this article is to share with my colleagues a technique which I use frequently in my Healing Touch practice. The technique evolved, intuitively, as I worked with clients with b2ap3_thumbnail_roof-1061095-m.jpgcompromised immune systems. We are aware that we, as practitioners, are channels/conduits for Energy to pass from our own Higher Source. The immune system needs this healing support in certain compromised states. The article is not intended to be an intellectual dissertation. My intention is to offer information about a technique which has the potential to support the immune system of our clients, as well as the option to be used as a self-care technique.

THE IMMUNE SYSTEM

The immune system is a complex biological system, made up of an advanced network of tissues, organs and cells. This system works to provide the body with a natural system of defenses. Different types of cells and proteins are designed to destroy invaders. Protective white blood cells, such as T cells, travel via the bloodstream to lymph nodes, the thymus and spleen seeking invaders such as bacteria, viruses, fungal infections and tumor cells.

When you, yourself are looking for a professional to provide a personal service, how do you choose them?

Clearly understanding what is important to you will help you know what you need to consider when presenting your services to the public.

If someone doesn’t know you personally, how does your marketing material present you and the services you offer? It is essential to think about your professional image and what image you are presenting to others. According to Harvard Business School professor, Laura Morgan Roberts, “Your professional image is the set of qualities and characteristics that represent perceptions of your competence and character as judged by your key constituents (i.e., clients and colleagues).

Questions you should ask yourself: Does your professional image make you appear trustworthy and competent? Does it convey you as an expert in a particular area? Are your services clearly identified and explained?

Freedom to Travel

Before I tell you how Healing Touch changed my life, you should know a little about me. I’m 63 and an RN who seems to be great at beating up her body. Four years ago, I learned a tough lesson. I woke up with complete paralysis of the right side of my face - the dreaded Bell’s palsy had struck. Of course, I thought it was a stroke. After two months, my b2ap3_thumbnail_lost-1-1101336-m.jpgface still drooped, and much of what I said could not be understood. I had no tears. I had no feeling in my right cheek. When I talked to my neurologist, my physician and my ENT, I was told not to expect any more major improvement. What I had was it. The EMG showed no nerve conduction at all. The only advice they had to offer – reduce my stress!

The end result – we moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico. I stayed in nursing, but my whole lifestyle became less stressful and more satisfying. I managed to regain most of my speech, developed less droop and even got my tears back. (So much for doctors!) I still had a slight dizziness, and my right cheek was still numb. I was always biting it and couldn’t chew or swallow on that side.

Now we fast forward to last October (2010). As I set out for the Healing Touch Level 4 Baja Cruise, I had no idea what to expect. I was just excited to be attending Level 4 and going on a cruise!

It didn’t start out well. I forgot about my permanent dizziness. I was so used to allowing for it that I didn’t think about being on a ship. I spent the entire night being seasick. With the help of a patch, I got over my seasickness and the HT work continued.

Hospice and Healing Touch: A match made in Heaven

Posted by on in Energy Magazine

Originally published in Energy Magazine: The official Publication of the Healing Touch Program March 2011 Issue.

Picture this: a beautiful four-storey Victorian home built in 1836. It is nestled on 2.2 acres of park-like setting on a quiet street in the heart of my hometown, London, Ontario. Welcome to the Hospice of London

It is Wednesday, and it is my day to provide Healing Touch with Bereavement Support to a Hospice client. The snow and early morning sunlight make the Hospice House seem even more comforting and welcoming. I park my car in the back. I walk past the garden, now covered in winter. In the spring and summer it is lovingly tended and nurtured by volunteers, most of which are past bereaved clients themselves. They feel a need to give back...to help bring peace to others as it was offered to them. I stop to ponder the stillness. It is the earth’s hibernation time. Much like what my bereaved clients are experiencing now in their journey through grief.

I enter the Hospice and Niki greets me with a big smile. She is a one of a handful of paid employees who run the Hospice House and its “day programs.” There are a host of complementary therapists here to choose from. Clients book a treatment of their choice, and the therapists come in as needed. We have 3 inhouse Healing Touch Practitioners, including myself. I combine Healing Touch with Bereavement Support. They fit like a glove.
